When is Bible Camp?
Bible Camp is Monday July 15- Friday July 19. It's hours are 8:45am - 12 noon (with an 8:30 start on Monday and Friday).

What goes on at Bible Camp? Is it just another Youth Faith Formation class?
Oh lots of fun stuff goes on! It is not a classroom setting. The kids are doing many hands on activities, playing and discussing with each other, learning about God and His Love in a fun-filled and active environment. Children on grouped in "crews" of 5-7 kids along with their own "crew leader" who leads them to the various stations for fun activities. There is something for everyone: singing, dancing, crafts, stories, games, and snacks.

What ages can attend Bible Camp?
All ages! The primary program is for children entering grades 1 through 6. We also have a limited enrollment program for preschoolers (ages 3 to entering Kindergarten). Jr High (7th and 8th) serve as volunteers for 1/2 of their time and have a special program of their own for the other half. High School students and adults serve as volunteers.

Where is Bible Camp?
At our own hall and classrooms. We decorate these rooms so they are a wonderful magic place the kids can enjoy.

Is there a fee for Bible Camp? What if I cannot afford it?
Yes, there is a fee to cover our expenses. Preschoolers (age 3-entering Kindergarten) and Grade School Campers (Entering grades 1-6) are $40 each. However, we will never turn a child away for an inability to pay. Please see Ruth Bradley 714)826-1140 in the Youth Faith Formation office if you need help with this fee.

Do I have to buy a t-shirt or any of the other products for sale?
No, not at all. The t-shirt is optional as are the CD and DVD. But they are a lot of fun and a great remembrance of your child's week. (Plus they are a small fundraiser for Bible Camp.)

My child's friend wants to attend but he goes to another church. Can he still participate?
While most of our attendants are parishioners, we welcome anyone to participate.

Do I have to volunteer for my child to attend?
No. However, preschool program has very limited enrollment and priority will be given to children of volunteers. The other programs are open to anyone. Can't volunteer during Bible Camp week but still want to help? Call Carolyn for alternative arrangements.

Can I receive FISH hours (required by St. I school) for volunteering?
Yes, this counts for parish FISH hours.

Can my child receive service hours for volunteering?
Yes, this counts for St. I School and confirmation service hours. Most other places (such as high schools) also accept this for volunteer hours. If in doubt, please check with the organization requiring hours.

When and how do I register?
Please check our
registration page for info.

Are there special requirements for adult volunteers?
Yes. Adults (18+) must be fingerprinted and take the safe environment safety course. Paperwork and information can be obtained from Ruth Bradley 714)826-1140 .

I've been fingerprinted through my school/other organization. Isn't that enough?
No. You must be fingerprinted through the Diocese. If your school or other organization is part of the Diocese you will be covered. Otherwise, you will need to have it done. Again, check with Ruth Bradley.

I've been fingerprinted through the diocese. Do I have to do it again?
No. Usually that is all. However, the safe environment training is periodic so you may have to do that again. Please check with Ruth Bradley to ensure everything is up to date and complete.
